The Tumescent Liposuction Procedure
Preparation: A local tumescent anesthetic is infused into the targeted fat areas to numb the area and minimize bleeding.
Fat Breakdown: About an hour later, a tiny cannula (about 2.00 mm in diameter is inserted into the skin. The cannula’s ultrasonic vibrations break down all the fibrous septae and suction out the fat.

Tumescent liposuction or TOPAL™ is a minimally invasive fat reduction procedure where a medicated saline solution is infused into the skin prior to the treatment. This tumescent solution eliminates pain and minimizes bleeding resulting in safe and easy fat removal.
What is laser liposuction?
Laser lipolysis is a minimally-invasive fat removal procedure that liquefies and breaks down fat tissue using laser energy. This is done for easy removal during liposuction. This method also results in tighter, firmer skin due to collagen production.
Who is an ideal candidate for laser lipolysis?
Any man or woman above the age of 18, healthy and within 20-25 lbs of their ideal body weight can undergo laser liposuction. However, it is best to consult a specialist before opting for the procedure.
How much weight will I lose?
Weight loss is not typically the way to measure liposuction results since fat weighs a lot less than bones and muscles. However, once the swelling subsides, you will notice your dress size decrease in the treated areas.
What is the recovery period for Smart Lipo and Tumescent Liposuction?
Since laser lipo is not as invasive as conventional liposuction, most patients return to work the very next day. However, 2-7 days of rest might be recommended in some cases.
i-Lipo on the other hand, being a non-invasive procedure, requires no downtime.
What are the risks of laser liposuction?
Any surgery comes with its own risks and complications. With laser lipo, chances are there might be bleeding, bruising or swelling, followed by infection, temporary discomfort, burns, scarring, or seroma. How many treatments do I need?
This depends on which procedure you are opting for. For laser lipo, our goal always has been to get it right the first time. But results can vary from person to person. Also, touch-ups may be required sometimes to better the results.
For i-Lipo, it is suggested that eight treatments be performed twice a week for four weeks.
